Seville JFC – 2022 Season Preview

Despite being able to field only three teams in season 2022, Seville Junior Football Club have enjoyed an enthusiastic training program where development and knowledge of the game from a young age is of great importance.

The three teams include under 10’s, under 11’s and under 13’s where they will be coached by senior club captain Nathan O’Keefe, Jami Liddlelow and Greg Oliver, as well as Paddy Murphy. Dean Troyhan and Paul Lister also join the coaching team in 2022.

Sharing its oval and facility with the Seville Cricket Club, the Blues have been unable to carry out pre-season training for much of the summer period at Seville Recreation Reserve but hope to be back in its home soon with the cricket season now finishing up.

Club president Brett Hook says his club are excited and ready to go for the new season and are particularly looking forward to completing a whole year.

“The three groups we have are very excited and enthusiastic about getting a start,” he said.

“This attitude is being reflected across the whole club because it’s been a while since we have been able to complete a full season.’

The club comes into the new year with a relatively new committee and Liddlelow has taken on an additional role where she is entrusted with developing a girl’s football program that begins to see its fruition in years to come.

“2022 is a consolidation year and it allows us to rebuild after what we have been through over the last couple of years,” Hook explained.

“I have no expectations on my players or the wider club in terms of on-field performance, but I would just like them to get out there, have fun and learn the game.”

As the club prepares to step into a new season, Hook thanked members of the Seville junior football community for their efforts up to this point of the year.

“It’s going to be a great year, no matter what happens and I am looking forward to seeing what we can make of it, ” he said.
