GOAL UMPIRE COACH WANTED

AFL Outer East

Position:  Head Coach – Goal Umpiring 2020 

• Emerald / Lilydale Training Facility

We are looking for a Coach to head up our Goal Umpiring Division in AFL Outer East 

Key functions/responsibilities in the role are:

• Prepare a program and conduct Coaching sessions on Wednesday nights (6.00pm) or coordinate other coaches present those sessions.
• Conduct specific training drills to assist umpires with the learning what is expected of them whilst carrying out their duties
• Appoint Goal umpires to all scheduled Senior and Reserves matches on a weekly basis throughout the season / finals and ensure they are entered into Schedula by 12pm on the Tuesday prior to that weekends’ matches
• Appoint Goal Umpires to Our Jnr Interleague & Jnr finals in liaison with the Junior Field Head Coach.
• Observe Goal Umpires in AFLOE matches played on a Saturday
• Make an appraisal of their standard of performance and their strengths and weaknesses
• Provide a written report of Goal umpires (format provided) that assists the umpire’s development and progression 

This position requires that you are available every Wednesday at our training venue from 6pm to 7.30pm

Successful applicants must have:

• Background in coaching
• strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong development focus
• strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• basic computer skills
• level 1 or be willing to undertake a Level 1 Coaching Certificate
