In the ERWFL Premier Division, Mt Evelyn got back on the winners list, defeating the previously undefeated Vermont. Mt Evelyn led at every change on the way to a 10 point victory. Sophie McCracken was the top goal scorer for Mt Evelyn with two goals, while Lauren Sullivan, Rebecca Theakstone, and Chelsea Delbridge kicked one each.
In Division One, Upwey Tecoma suffered their first loss of the season, losing to South Croydon by 87 points. The margin was only 10 points at quarter time, but after that things went downhill for Upwey Tecoma. They only scored one more goal for the remainder of the match as South Croydon continued to pile on the goals. Lana Kitteringham and Alexandria Bantock kicked one goal each for Upwey Tecoma, while Monica Vantilburg, Claire Weickhardt and Cale McNess were among their best in what was a very tough afternoon.
In the Outer East Division, Monbulk continue their undefeated start to the season, defeating Yarra Junction by 33 points. Scores were level at quarter time, but in the second quarter Yarra Junction only scored one point while Monbulk kicked two goals three. The margin kept growing from there, and in the end it was a win to Monbulk. Michelle Goldsmith kicked both of Yarra Junction’s goals, while Maddison Dodd and Kathryn Gow kicked two each for Monbulk.
Belgrave got their second win on the board for 2019, defeating Thornton-Eildon. Like in the Monbulk vs Yarra Junction game, the scores at quarter time were level, this time locked at one point apiece. Belgrave pulled away in the second quarter, and even further in the second half. They were able to restrict Thornton-Eildon to two points for the entire second half to register an 18 point win. Toni-Maree Abbott was the sole goalkicker for Thornton Eildon, while Jessica Weisgerber kicked two and Ashleigh Hilder one for Belgrave.
In the final game of the round, Healesville remain undefeated after defeating Upwey Tecoma by 33 points.
