A significant milestone will take place on the netball courts of Holm Park Reserve this weekend, with Beaconsfield Netball Club stalwart Shelley Ziesler playing her 300th game for the Eagles.
Making her debut for the club back in 2000, Ziesler plays as a mid courter but also has the ability to be in defence and attack when needed.
A fit and athletic person, Beaconsfield netball president and close friend Valerie Edge was upbeat of Ziesler for reaching this magnificent milestone.
“It is phenomenal, and the club is proud of her,” she said.
“She was already the games record holder, but she keeps going because she has a lot of energy and is passionate for fitness and playing sport.”
Ziesler is an example of a volunteer who is one of the most committed people at club land.
Currently the secretary of the netball club, she loves Beaconsfield and always has the best interests of both the netball and football clubs at heart.
Ziesler has been a committee member for many years also holding roles as a team manager for netball, senior and junior football clubs while previously serving in coaching roles and has been on the committee at the junior football club too.
With her husband Dean and their four children also involved with Beaconsfield in various capacities, the Ziesler family can only be described as devoted to the club.
Edge describes Ziesler as dedicated to the Beaconsfield cause and always puts herself forward to help the two clubs in whatever way possible.
“She does a lot for the club in her administration role, she is committed and very much involved,” Edge explained.
“I think she and her family will be around for quite a while yet.”
AFL Outer East joins Beaconsfield Netball Club in wishing a huge congratulations to Shelley Ziesler on reaching her 300th game milestone.
