On behalf of Outer East Football Netball staff and board, we would like to extend our condolences to the family and friends of OEFN life member Len Ure.
Len began his playing career in 1945. He played 416 registered games, in the Back Pocket wearing the number 28. He did know how many games he actually played, as he always had his gear in the car in case they were short on players.
Len is remembered as a tenacious, good, honest footballer.
Over the years Len held every position of the Club. He was also well know for his ‘Fry Ups” on a Thursday night. If there was a job to be done, Len was there to lend a hand.
In 1956, Len received Life membership and in 2006 he was named “Brooker of the Century”
He was also a Life Member of the League.
The Last game that Len attended was against Emerald in 2022. Even though he could not stay for the whole game, he was very happy that his Brookers won. He enjoyed this day thoroughly and spoke of it to all at the home he was in.
