It’s time for another Totally Workwear Berwick and TWW Knoxfield Volunteer of the Week. This time we’ll be shining a spotlight on Steve Santamaria, the Vice President of the Berwick Netball Club.
Steve is not only the right hand man to President Mel Broadley, but is also one of the many feverish workers in the background for the Wickers, doing almost all of the unwanted duties on game day.
Steve sets up the courts and gathers the troops in the morning to ensure all is right before a big day of netball. The BBQ, the signage, the chairs, the marquees – if it needs doing, Steve does it.
Steve also co-ordinates the umpires for Berwick and often umpires a game or two. However his umpiring days may be coming to an end as a recurring calf injury looks to curtail his input with whistle in hand.
Steve has been on the committee of the Berwick Netball Club since 2016 and is one of the biggest reasons the club continues to blossom according to President Mel Broadley.
“Saint Santa, is not only my right hand and support, but he does all the unnoticed things that are required around the club on game day and without him some days I am not too sure how we would get it all done.”
Well Done Steve on being the TWW Volunteer of the Week!
