Thornton Eildon will be looking for a year of improvement across the board.
They struggled at times in 2022 and managed just 16 points per game. They should take confidence into the 2023 season however, as they defeated the two teams directly higher than them on the ladder; Seville and Monbulk. The Seville win was huge, kicking an impressive 8.9-57 to 2.6-18, with Hilary Myles booting 4 goals, on a day where they had five individual goal scorers.
The win against Monbulk in Round 9 saw Catherine Hoinville (Team of the Year) bag 4 goals and Myles kick two.
Hoinville and Myles ended up with eight and six goals respectively.
Lucy McRae is a dominating presence in the Ruck and if their forward line can become more potent, then Thornton Eildon could win a few more games in 2023, as they already proved in the past that they can trouble some sides come finals time.
