The AFL Yarra Ranges was made aware of a total player points breach by Yarra Junction on Saturday 30-6-18 in the Senior Match Vs Powelltown.
Yarra Junction was forthright in contacting the league as soon as they became aware of the issue and were cooperative in providing their reasoning’s as to why the issue occurred.
Statement from the Commission:
“The AFL Yarra Ranges Region Commission has considered the issue of Yarra Junction FNC exceeding their maximum player points allocation in the match played Saturday 30th June at Powelltown, against Powelltown.
Having considered the breach and circumstances outlined in your correspondence, the Commission has deemed that whilst it may have been in error it still constituted a breach of the AFL Victoria Player Points System (PPS) Policy.
The Commission has determined the following penalty will apply.
– Your club has been fined $1250, of which $750 will be suspended until 31st December 2019.
– Please note that due to your club winning this fixture, further sanctions will apply. All match premiership points in this fixture will be awarded to the opposition club, Powelltown. Your score for the game will be annulled, and will be recorded 77-0 in favour of Powelltown. Any League B&F votes or Goal Kicking stats for Yarra Junction players will remain valid.”
The Commission accepts Yarra Junctions position that the breach was made in error.
