The AFL Outer East Commission have announced that the League will be adapting the promotion relegation process for the 2019-2020 transition.
In order to fast-track improved competition balance, the commission have ratified increased movement between the divisions. The bottom placed side in Premier Division will still be relegated as per competition guidelines, and the Premier of Division One will still be promoted, however the commission will consider applications from all clubs across all divisions to be relegated or promoted for the 2020 season.
The AFL Outer East commission’s preferred structure would see nine team Premier and Division One competitions, with an eight team Division Two, however if required any division may have eight or 10 teams.
All clubs have been notified of the application process and relevant criteria.
Clubs have also been provided the opportunity to put forward their views regarding the structure of the Under 18 competitions.
