OEFN & AFLSE Umpire Partnership

The Outer East Football Netball Umpiring Department & AFL South East Umpiring Department are very excited to announce a new agreement, by combining training resources at Heatherbrae Reserve, for the foreseeable future.

 

This partnership is a great result for umpiring in the region, providing great clarity and collaboration between Outer East FN & AFL South East umpiring groups.

 

The purpose of this agreement is to give umpires in this specific region, an option, and a choice of what competition they want to umpire.

 

As part of the agreement, umpires who train at the Heatherbrae Reserve base, will be encouraged to register and officiate for the Outer East Football Netball Senior Competition on Saturdays, and the South East Junior Competition on Sundays.

 

This training base is for umpires to attend across both groups on Monday evenings and to get access to coaches from the Outer East FN & AFL South East umpiring department.

 

Outer East FN Director of Umpiring Jason McNiece is pleased to have a strong agreement in place and is looking forward to the partnership growing, benefitting both competitions.

 

‘We are are delighted to partner with AFL South East to provide the opportunity for umpires in the South East corridor to officiate Senior Football within our competition. We look forward to strengthening this partnership over the coming years for the benefit of all parties involved.’

 

AFL South East Umpire Operations Coordinator, Ryan Mann also communicated the benefits of this joint training venue agreement.

By combining resources and providing another option for umpires located in the region surrounding Heatherbrae Reserve, to progress their career, we hope this is for the betterment of umpiring holistically’.
