Seville have booked themselves another date with Yea, Kinglake will battle Yarra Glen, Pakenham hand ROC their second loss for the year and Healesville get off the mark in their last game of the year.

Seville did all the hard work in the first half of their encounter, jumping out to an 11 goal to seven lead at the first change, before extending it to a five goals at half time, holding the Lakers to just fifteen goals in the first half.

Kinglake threatened at times during second half to overturn the result, but were well held by the Seville defence, with Stephanie McNay leading the way once again, both resolute and resplendent in her Goal Defence role.

Ella Bayliss and Bridget Waack had an intense battle in the mid court, both named in the best players for their respective sides, while Bille Cvijetic was the leading goal scorer on the court with 21 for the Lakers. Cailey Nolan (15) and Jackie Cullimore (13) led the way for the Blues, whilst Cvijetic was supported by Abbie Barnes who shot 11 goals and was named the Lakers best player playing Goal Attack.

Kinglake will now take on Yarra Glen after the RiverPigs defeated Yarra Junction with relative ease on their home patch, 53-33.  Coach Alicia Mortley shot 30 goals as Yarra Glen flew out of the blocks with a six goal lead at the first break and a 10 goal lead at half time.

The Eagles never looked likely in the second half, despite the best efforts of Amelia Michelle (20 goals) and mid courters Mia Motteram and Catherine Vermeltfoort, who were standouts across the afternoon. Yarra Glen owned either end of the court with Mortley well supported by Nicole Moate (18) at the attacking end and defensive pairing Katelyn Vanderkolk and Alana Stone starring at the other end of the court.

The RiverPigs will go into this weekends cutthroat semi-final full of confidence as they look to knock off Kinglake for the first time this season.

In Division One the Pakenham Lions stunned ROC with a massive final quarter to give the top of the table Roos their second loss for the season.

The Lions led by three goals at the first break and two goals at halftime in what looked to be a relatively tentative affair with just 30 goals between the sides in the first half. ROC came to life in the third quarter, holding the Lions to just three goals, as they jumped out a four goal 23-19 lead at the final change.

But led by taliswoman Kyra Esler, the Lions smashed ROC in the final quarter, putting up 15 goals to ROC’s five in the last quarter. Esler shot 14 of those 15 last quarter goals to rack up 30 for the match, capping off a very impressive 2019 for the Lions shooter.

Pakenham now take on Warburton Millgrove in the Division One elimination final after the Burras finished their season on a high with a 30 goal win over Doveton at home. Bianca Daniels shot 31 goals whilst Kirralee Luiyf shot 25.

Mount Evelyn also had a comfortable win over Emerald, as Ellie Karalua shot 30 of the Rovers 48 goals. The two Black’s – Kaitlyn and Jacqui – played impressive games, holding the Bombers to just 22 goals for the afternoon.

Finally, Monbulk will enter the finals on a high, with Stephanie Puopolo (41) and Nicole MacDowell (20) combining for a round high 61 goals, as the Hawks defeated Belgrave by 23 to finish off their home and away season.

Healesville have claimed their first win for the year in their last outing as the Bloods outlasted Wandin to win by two goals on Saturday, 41-39.

Healesville led 12-10 at quarter time and expanded on their lead by the main break to be four goal leaders, 25-21, before Wandin surged back in the third quarter, holding Healesville to just five goals in the third quarter, netting nine of their own to bring the scores level at the final change, with a Wandin victory seeming the most likely result at this stage.

Led by Goal Attack Amy Stanley the Bloods willed themselves to victory with an 11 goal to nine final quarter doing the job. Stanley, who shot 22 goal for the afternoon, hit eight in the last quarter to see her side home. Goal Shooter Jade Rogers finished with 19 whilst Alexandra Byran and Emily Hay also played starring roles for the victorious Bloods.

Prominent shooter Cassidy Iedema shot 25 goals whilst Alanna Lennie and Cleo Minney were the best Dogs.

In other games Olinda Ferny Creek just need to knock off Wandin to complete an undefeated home and away season after they handed Cranbourne a  second successive loss, 52-33. Peri Stewart shot 47 goals whilst Elly Stewart was named best on court. Tahlia Coates shot 27 for the Eagles.

Upwey-Tecoma defeated Berwick for the second time this season after a 12 goal final quarter saw them finish up 41-38 winners against the Wickers. The scores were tied at 29 apiece with one quarter to play before Monique Nagle and Gabriella Bull shot six final term goals each. Nagle finished the day with 26 to her name whilst Emma Clarke shot 31 of her sides 38 goals.

Finally Woori Yallock have kept their top three chances alive after a 16 goal win over Narre Warren. Mia Sudomirski shot 40 of the Tigers 51 goals in a dominant performance. Brittany Mashado played well in the mid court to be named the Magpies best.
