Outer East Football Netball is thrilled to announce the arrival of Matt Blanchard to the role of Netball Operations Coordinator for season 2022 and beyond.
Working alongside Netball Development Manager Greg Heinrich, Blanchard will be responsible for the day-to-day processes of netball and help to further grow the game through the Outer East.
Already a well-known figure in the region, Blanchard has been involved with Olinda Ferny Creek Football Netball Club since 2014 as its Netball Coordinator.
At the Bloods, he successfully managed its program to deliver great participation numbers and on-court success, with the highlight being assisting the A Grade side to four premierships, in addition to the minor premiership in 2021.
Other projects with which he has been involved in with the Outer East include being a member of the netball committee in previous years, assisting our netball interleague/association championship teams and carrying out operational duties with hosting netball finals too.
Outside of his previous netball commitments with Outer East, Blanchard has also been actively involved with the Ariels and Boroondara Netball Clubs in the Victorian Netball League.
Speaking on his appointment to the role, Blanchard is excited about his new role with the league and is looking forward to further developing his career in the netball operations spectre.
“I am absolutely thrilled about the opportunity to fulfill a newly created role in the netball department with Outer East,” he said.
“I look forward to actively working with all clubs to further develop the netball sector of our competition.
“Additionally, I have a passion for netball at interleague level and the representative sides, so I am keen to be more involved with that side of my role as well.”
Chief Executive Officer Aaron Bailey was also pleased with the appointment of Blanchard and believes he is a great acquisition for the competition.
“Matt has been an outstanding contributor for netball at both club and league level for a long time prior to his employment with us,” he said.
“He is well respected across the league and is most deserving of this opportunity.”
Blanchard will commence in his role with Outer East on 31st January 2022.
