This Saturday one of Narre Warren’s favourite daughters will play her 250th game for the Magpies, when they host Berwick for the first time this season.
Kate Dowling began her Narre Warren career in 2006 as an eleven year old girl playing in the Narre Warren Under 13 side. Kate went on to spend six years in the Narre Warren junior program, with the highlight coming in 2011 as she captained their under 17 side to the premiership.
She then transitioned into the senior club where she continues to play, now in her eighth season. Dowling has played in two senior premierships for the club, with her triumphs coming in 2016 (C Grade) and in last seasons SEFNL finale (B Grade). The latter premiership was won under her leadership.
Kate is also the captain of the Narre Warren 2019 B Grade side.
Not only has she shown leadership in her own sides, but she has also coached a number of the clubs junior teams, masterminding the ultimate success for the Narre Warren Under 15 White Premiership in 2014. Kate has been an exceptional role model for all of the Narre Warren juniors passing on the values they hold dear throughout their netball structure.
Kate is the definition of a club person, with her loyalty and attitude towards every single person at the club always at the utmost importance to her. Kate has been a valued member of the Magpies on and off the court and is one of the first to volunteer her time on almost every occasion.
Kate is a well valued and respected member of the Narre Warren Football Netball Club – go well in your 250th!
