In the Premier Division, Mt Evelyn cemented their place in the finals with a comprehensive win over Bayswater.
Mt Evelyn kept Bayswater scoreless in the opening half, and to only two points in the second half.
Mt Evelyn had six individual goalkicker with Georgia Ploegsma kicking four, Lilly Kelly and Jessica Smith kicking two each, whilst Isobel Urquhart, Rachel Theobald and Alycia Olney each kicked one.
In Division One, Upwey Tecoma finished their build up to the finals with a draw against Norwood.
Upwey had a one goal lead at quarter time, but by half time that lead had shrunk to one point. The sides could not be split at three quarter time, nor at the final siren.
For Upwey Tecoma, Jessica Occhipinti and Kiana Oates each kicked one goal.
In the Outer East Division, there were wins to Belgrave, Yarra Junction and Healesville.
For Belgrave, they finished their season in style with a win over Thornton – Eildon.
The scores were even at quarter time, but Belgrave were able to kick away in the second term to hold an eight point lead at half time.
The lead was 15 points by the final charge, and despite holding the Magpies scoreless in the final term, Thornton – Eildon could only score one point to hand Belgrave a 14 point win.
Jessica Weisgerber kicked two goals for the Magpies while Naomi Hargreaves kicked one, and Tanika Brown was the only goalkicker for Thornton – Eildon.
Upwey Tecoma’s final game may be a fair summary of their season.
Yarra Junction kept the Tigers scoreless for three quarters, with their only score being a solitary first quarter point. In the end it was a 59 point win to the Eagles.
For the Eagles, Rachel Evans and Kirsten McConnell kicked two goals, while Tina Eason, Patsy Boxell, Jennifer Kelberg and Ann Ito each kicked one.
Leah Borg, Imogen Rennie, Kristen Burke were among the Tigers best in what was the end to a very tough season for the Tigers.
In the top of the table clash, Healesville maintained their undefeated season, defeating Monbulk.
Healesville’s lead was only one point at quarter time, but after that Monbulk struggled to score, only scoring one point for the remainder of the afternoon. They can take some positives from the fact that in the third term Healesville only scored one point.
Dannielle Jones, Kira Maass, Alexandra Woods and Jaimee Petersen kicked singles for Healesville, while Kathryn Gow was Monbulk’s only goalkicker.
These results set up an interesting set of finals next weekend.
Out at Silvan Reserve, Mt Evelyn are taking on Blackburn and Upwey Tecoma’s Division One side are taking on East Ringwood.
Meanwhile at Upwey Recreation Reserve, Yarra Junction do battle with Thornton-Eildon, while a repeat of the top of the table battle looms as Healesville and Monbulk do battle once again.
