In the Eastern Region Women’s Premier Division, Mt Evelyn were not able to get over the line against Donvale. After leading by seven points at half time, Donvale raced ahead and restricted Mt Evelyn to only a solitary point for the entire third term. Although Mt Evelyn were able to restrict Donvale to only one goal for the final quarter, they only scored four points and so lost by 14 points. Kate Hutchinson and Lilly Kelly kicked two majors each for Mt Evelyn.

In Division One, Upwey Tecoma had a tough afternoon, losing to The Basin by 40 points. Upwey Tecoma didn’t score a single goal until the final term. Alexandria Bantock and Cale McNess were the goalkickers for Upwey Tecoma, while Emma Caccetta, Corinna White and Monica Vantilburg were among their best players in what was a tough afternoon.

In the Outer East division, despite a slow start, Healesville were able to get over the line against Belgrave. The Magpies were able to restrict Healesville to a scoreless opening term, but were not able to score anything themselves after quarter time. Healesville were able to take the lead in the second term and held onto it for the remainder of the match. Danielle Carrucan and Lisa Mathieson kicked one of Healesville’s goals each, while Jess Weisgerber was the sole goal kicker for Belgrave.

Monbulk continued their strong start to the season, defeating Thornton-Eildon. After only leading by 16 points at quarter time, Monbulk streaked ahead in the second term to lead by 42 points. The lead was 61 by three quarter time and 70 by full time. There were nine individual goalkickers for Monbulk, with Kathryn Gow and Laura McClelland top of the tally with four and two goals respectively.

In the final game of the round, Yarra Junction had a comfortable win over Upwey Tecoma. The end margin was 73 points, while Upwey Tecoma were kept scoreless for the entire match. Michelle Goldsmith kicked three goals for Yarra Junction, while Molly Rainey, Imogen Rennie and Maleah Moody were among the best for Upwey Tecoma in what was a very tough afternoon out on the park.

Meanwhile, in the Eastern Region Girls Under 18 Premier Division, Mt Evelyn had a day to forget against Donvale. Goalless for the first half, they only scored one for the entire second half to lose by 21 points. In Division One, it was a 41 point win to Seville after they restricted Knox to only 5 points for the entire match.

In the Under 16 Premier division, Mt Evelyn were too strong for Mitcham, winning by 41 points. Mitcham were restricted to only one goal for the entire match.

After keeping Yea scoreless in the opening term, Yarra Glen piled on the pressure to registered a 47 point victory in the Under 16 Outer East competition. In the same competition, Seville came from behind at three quarter time to register a ten point win over Healesville. In the final game, Upwey Tecoma defeated Olinda-Ferny Creek by 54 points.

In the Under 14 Outer East division, Belgrave had a good win against Jetstream. After not scoring a goal until the third term, they were able to have a three goal to none final term to take the win.

Monbulk had a massive win over Healesville. Although the margin was only nine points at quarter time, Monbulk then asserted their dominance and kept Healesville goalless for the match, winning by 100 points. Special mention must be given to Monbulk’s Georgia Knight, who kicked six goals in the win.

Mt Evelyn earned a narrow win over Worawa. With the margin at a mere three points at three quarter time, Mt Evelyn managed to restrict Worawa to only one point scored in the term while scoring one goal two behinds themselves.

After three straight losses, Olinda Ferny Creek are back on the winners list after a 25 point win over Emerald. After only leading by eight points at the final break, Olinda Ferny Creek managed a three goal to one final term to break the game open and emerge victorious.

In the Under 12 Outer East division, there were wins to Mt Evelyn (over Belgrave Pink), Yarra Glen (over Healesville) and Belgrave Black (over Olinda Ferny Creek).
