In the Eastern Region Women’s Premier Division, Mt Evelyn couldn’t quite get over the line against Whitehorse Suns. After leading at three quarter time, they let the lead slip and ultimately went down by seven points. Lilly Kelly and Isobel Urquhart kicked two goals each while Kate Hutchinson and Alycia Olney kicked one goal apiece.
Upwey Tecoma remain on top of the Division One ladder after a comfortable win against Knox. Upwey Tecoma were able to restrict the Falcons to one goal after half time to register a 35 point win. Madison Walsh and Emma Caccetta kicked two goals apiece while Monica Vantilburg and Emma Koster were amongst their best as Upwey Tecoma remain one of only two undefeated teams in the division.
In the Outer East division, Healesville registered another big win, this time against Yarra Junction. Yarra Junction were kept scoreless and did not score much more after half time. Danielle Carrucan and Kelly Marie Laidlaw kicked two each for Healesville while Michelle Goldsmith kicked Yarra Junction’s solitary goal.
Thornton – Eildon registered their first win of the season, defeating Upwey Tecoma by 33 points. Upwey only scored one goal two after quarter time as Thornton – Eildon piled on the scoreboard pressure.
Monbulk also remain undefeated, comfortably defeating Belgrave by 35 points. Monbulk were so dominant that they were able to keep the Magpies scoreless all afternoon. G. Emmett, A. Kotnik, C. Harris, K. Gow each kicked one goal.
Meanwhile in the Under 18 Premier Division, Mt Evelyn were not able to turn things around from their poor performance last week, going down to Montrose. After a four goal to none first quarter in favour of Montrose, the second quarter was much more even, only one goal apiece. It was a similar story in the third term, but this time it was only one point apiece. In the end, a four goal to none final term in favour of Montrose sealed the deal. In Division One, Seville had a tough day at the office, losing to Rowville Knights by 114 points. Seville were kept goalless until the final quarter, but by then the margin was up around the three-figure mark.
In the Under 16 Premier Division, it was a 19 point loss for Mt Evelyn against Vermont. Mt Evelyn were kept goalless until the final term, but despite a three goal to two effort in that final term, it wasn’t enough. Casey McConchie kicked two goals for Mt Evelyn, while Alana Morabito kicked one.
In the Outer East Division, Emerald had a comfortable win over Seville. Emerald was strong from the get-go, keeping Seville goalless for the first half and subsequently keeping them to one goal for the match. Molly Webb was the star up front for Emerald, kicking five majors, while Taylah Grace, Shanae Geysen and Mackenzie Cocks kicked one each.
After keeping Olinda Ferny Creek to one goal up until half time, the stage was set for a comfortable win to Healesville. The margin was 28 points at half time, but grew and grew from there. In the end it was a 39 point victory to Healesville. For Healesville, Madeline Sikorski kicked three goals and Misty Skeene two goals, while Breeanna Brookes, Amy Frazzetto and Milla Potter each kicked one. Meanwhile, Abigail Gitsham kicked two goals for Olinda – Ferny Creek and Tahlia Heitmann kicked one. Finally, although it is unclear what the result was in the Yea vs Upwey Tecoma game.
In the Under 14 Outer East Division, there were wins to Emerald (47 points over Jetstream), Mt Evelyn (80 points over Olinda Ferny), Worawa (38 points over Belgrave) and Monbulk (44 points over Healesville).
In the Under 12 Outer East Division, there were wins to Healesville (37 points over Belgrave Pink), Mt Evelyn (10 points over Olinda Ferny Creek) and Belgrave Black (15 points over Yarra Glen).
