OEFN is pleased to announce the updated Division One football & Netball fixtures as well as the Two divisions of Women’s football Fixtures.
There are a couple of Women’s matches without confirmed days/start times. These will be confirmed asap.
Division One Football & Netball
The adjustments made to the Division One fixtures were required as a result of the inconsistencies made by Yarra Glens movement to Division Two. The adjustments made have followed consultation with the Division One clubs.
It was unanimously decided by the Division One clubs to increase the rounds played by Two and reduce the Finals series to a three week, Top 4 system.
One of the extra rounds will be played in Mid-July where a Split round had previously existed. This will be Round 13.
The other extra round will be played in place of the original first week of finals on the 26-8-23. This will be Round 18.
The first Split round in May, Round 5, was considered as an extra round slot, however it was considered too close to the season start.
The remaining original rounds have stayed the same, but with some switches of who is home or away required near the end of the season instead of a re fixture to reduce the amount of disruption to clubs and participants existing plans.
All Football games previously scheduled against Yarra Glen will now be a Bye.
As previously advised, Yea’s Netball teams will join Division One for 2023 and play in Yarra Glen’s place.
As there is an uneven number of games played by Division One clubs in season 2023, Match Ratio will be used to determine a club’s ladder position.
Further to this, the tie breaker for teams who finish the season on an equal amount of Match Ratio will be the Head-to-Head system.
This is the same system which was used in all OEFN competitions in season 2022. Percentage will not be shown on the Division One competition ladders.
Thank you all for patience and assistance, and we now look forward to a great 2023 season.
