To aid the development of clubs, coaches and most importantly players in our league and region, Outer East Football Netball has introduced the Coaches Corner, which is a resource for all coaches in the Outer East to access.
The Coaches Corner boasts mentors suited to one on one group sessions with playing groups, coaches suited to educating junior or beginner coaches and resources for those looking to head into the elite sphere.

TACKLING – MALCOLM BANGS – TACKLES & TAKEDOWNS

Malcolm Bangs Tackles & Takedowns has become Australia’s Premier Specialist Coaching business.
Whether it is Contact and Tackling Skills Coaching for Australian Rules Football or Takedowns and Throws for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts his extensive experience is second to none.
Attention to detail and acknowledging the finer points is what sets Malcolm’s approach apart.
His expertise is not only in his vast experience, but in the ability to ensure that his skills and experiences are adapted specifically to the requirements of the sport Malcolm is working with.
When ‘cross sport’ coaching – there should be no ‘one size fits all’ mentality in the approach.
Beginning in 2005 with the Victorian Institute of Sport (V.I.S.) Men’s Soccer Program providing a Judo based training system to encourage on-field confidence and agility to their athletes. Malcolm has continued to offer his expertise to the Elite, Elite Development and ‘Grass Roots’ levels of sports such as Soccer, Australian Rules Football, Basketball, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts.
Malcolm is a Judo Black Belt (Coached by Arthur Moreshead 8th Dan OAM) with International competition and training experience, including roles as official training partner to both the 2004 Athens and the 2008 Australian Olympic Judo teams.
He also has an extensive Rugby Union experience including Junior State Representation.
Malcolm holds AFL Level 1 and Judo Level 1 Coaching accreditations as well as a WWCC

ATHLETIC DEVELOPMENT – Thomas Lariba-Taing – RISE Health Group
(Suited to One on One Group Sessions)
Tom is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist who enjoys multiple dimensions of health management.
Tom is passionate about facilitating positive change through exercise interventions and has experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds – from disease management (diabetes, heart disease etc.) to sports rehabilitation and athlete performance.
He has worked with multiple schools (primary & secondary) and sporting organizations (community & professional) implementing physical development and education programs.
Tom has an extensive background in enhancing athlete performance and rehabilitation and is currently utilising these skill sets in the following roles:

Athlete Performance Manager of the Volleyball, Cricket and Netball programs at the Rowville Sports Academy.

Athletic Development & Rehabilitation Coordinator for the Western Bulldogs Football Club (AFLW).

High Performance Manager at Eastern Ranges (TAC Cup).
Tom has a Diploma of Sport Development, Bachelor of Exercise Science & Human Movement, Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology (Rehabilitation) and is a Level 2 ASCA Strength & Conditioning coach.
RISE High Performance delivers strength and conditioning programs that enhance physical performance qualities e.g. Strength, Speed, Power, Aerobic/Anaerobic capacity etc. The programs implemented to develop these qualities come from the extensive experience working with professional, sub-elite and community sporting organisations. RISE has also consulted to education departments on the tertiary, secondary and primary level.
