Healesville FNC – Ash Hamer 200 Senior Games
This is what local football is all about.
A young boy wants to play footy and heads to the local club and starts off with Auskick. He then follows through to the junior club and plays in all the grades. Ash had some success throughout the juniors winning multiple awards and was fortunate enough to win a couple of flags with his mates.
Thankfully he is enjoying his footy and moves up to the senior club and starts with the under 18s, and is one of the best players on the ground in their 2005 premiership.
2006 he becomes a regular senior player playing mainly as a forward, capable of kicking multiple goals and is also very good when used in defence.
Ash played his 200th senior game round 11 against Berwick at Healesville and was able to share a special moment running through the banner with his two boys Max and Charlie
Ash’s achieved the following whilst playing for HFNC:
200 Seniors Games
50 Reserves Games
37 Under 18 Games
(Total 287 for Healesville Senior Football Netball Club)
200 Senior Goals
Leading Senior Goal Kicker 2011
Reserves premiership player 2012
Premierships : 2013,2016
Ash has been lucky enough to share his achievements with some of his great mates going back to his Auskick days, he is a brilliant club man and a well-respected player throughout the league.
Not only is Ash a leader at the club but also the local A Grade Cricket coach and pretty handy with the bat.
Well done Ash on your remarkable career!
We also like to take this opportunity to congratulate The Berwick F.C. for showing great sportsmanship on the day, firstly for acknowledging his milestone as he left the ground after the game. Secondly to Berwick reserves coaching group for understanding we were a little undermanned on the day and shouting our twos a slab after their game .
