Following the State Government’s announcement that Victoria will enter a seven-day lockdown, all AFL Outer East football and netball matches fixtured for the weekend of May 28-30 have been cancelled.
AFL Outer East and its member clubs met prior to the start of the 2021 season and agreed to a consistent league wide approach in the event of cancellation of games. These agreed principles can be found in the AFL Outer East COVID Specific By Laws, located here: https://bit.ly/2To2fmb
The scheduled round for the weekend of May 28-30 will not be rescheduled, with no points or percentage awarded this weekend.
Additionally, all club activity which includes training, Auskick centres, events/functions and school programs is suspended from 11.59pm tonight. AFL Outer East recommends no training to be undertaken tonight. Those clubs that wish to train, must abide by the current Restricted Activity Directions (RAD) provided by AFL Victoria.
Outer East headquarters will be closed for the duration of the lockdown, with all staff working from home.
AFL Outer East will provide further information on upcoming rounds and fixtures as more information comes to hand.
Our immediate priority is for the wellbeing of all our members in the region and we ask for all members of our community to look out for each other, stay safe and healthy, and to please abide by the new restrictions that will come into effect from 11:59pm Thursday 27 May.
