AFL Outer East announces partnership with Box Hill Institute

The AFL Outer East is pleased to announce a new partnership with Box Hill Institute where the two organisations will work together to educate, build and equip future generations with lifelong skills.

The partnership aims to engage Box Hill Institute students with the Outer East community and promote the benefits of fitness, training and education.

Through the partnership, the league will have access to a dedicated professional development facility and opportunities to collaborate with a leading education provider in the region. And all this, while promoting localised career and educational pathways to help increase club retention and participation.

Moving into 2021, the partnership intends to spread the message about fitness, training and education, by engaging the community and increasing the use of the Box Hill Institute Lilydale Lakeside campus.

AFL Outer East Regional General Manager Aaron Bailey said the league was delighted to have the support of Box Hill Institute ahead of the upcoming 2021 season.

“We look forward to commencing this exciting partnership,” he said.

“Having worked together in the past, we know there is a strong alignment in our values and our passion for the Outer East region.

“Establishing a network of valuable connections is so important for students looking to take the first career steps. We look forward to bringing this to life, as students reap the advantages of undertaking placements and traineeships across our region.”

Box Hill Institute CEO, Vivienne King, expressed her enthusiasm for the new partnership.

“This partnership with AFL Outer East will provide a location for all the organisation’s education programs and conferences. Our sport and fitness students will really  benefit from placements and traineeships across the network,” she said.

“Box Hill Institute is proud to be in Lilydale and to be part of the Yarra Ranges, and the partnership with AFL Outer East only strengthens our presence there. We’ve been in Lilydale for four years now, and our Lilydale Lakeside Conference and Events Centre is ideal for the AFL Outer East needs. The partnership really is a win-win for both parties.”
