WELCOME PETER JAMES | 2025 UMPIRING HEAD COACH

Outer East Football Netball and YRUA are excited to announce Peter James as Head Coach of our Umpiring Program for 2025.

Peter comes into this role with a focus on creating a culture that fosters improvement, enjoyment, encouragement and development for all umpires across all disciplines.

He has extensive experience in coaching, with two years as Senior Coach and Appointments Officer at AFL Masters, two years as a Senior Assistant Coach in the VAFA, and most recently a Junior Coach and Boundary Appointments Officer at the Northern Football Netball League.

Peter also has vast experience with umpiring – with a background as a field umpire who over a 25-year period has officiated representative matches, ten carnivals around Australia, and over fifteen Grand Finals across various competitions and Divisions.

In the coming weeks we will be announcing other Umpire Coaching position appointments as we build to a new Umpiring Structure in 2025.
