2024 Umpire Ambassador – Matt Young

Introducing Matt Young as Umpire Ambassador for the YRUA in 2024.

We are pleased to announce that AFL Field umpire Matthew Young will be the Outer East FN umpire ambassador for season 2024.

Matthew is an AFL Senior Field Umpire who made his AFL debut in Round 3 2023 Gold Coast Vs Geelong at Carrara. In Matthew’s 1^st season on the AFL Senior panel he umpired 15 games and aims to build on a solid season in 2024.

Matthew will be a regular attendee at training this season and will assist our umpires with skill development, provide match feedback and help mentor our junior umpires in being more comfortable in the umpiring environment.

Matthew’s first night at training for this season will be on Wednesday February 28^th at Mountain Rd, Cockatoo.

We look forward to seeing many senior and junior umpires at training on that night and learn from one of the best in the business.
