Senior Football

It’s an exciting year for the Burras, with the Seniors having finished 4^th in 2022 (first finals appearance since 2006) before going down to Yarra Junction in the first week.

Another pre-season under the belt of the players should go a long way to taking that next step in 2023, especially given almost half the side that played in the final against Yarra Junction were 23 years or younger.

They were a reasonably highscoring team in 2022, averaging 88 points per game, whilst conceding 79 a game.

Warby were the number one contested team, with 87.3 contested disposals per game, number 2 clearance team with 37.3 and first for forward 50 tackles with 11.7 per game.

With the Farrer boys joining the Burras in 2023 they are certainly looking a solid chance to make finals again and perhaps one or two steps further.

 

Netball

It will be a massive achievement to stop Warburton Millgrove going back-to-back in 2023, after comfortably defeating Broadford in the 2022 Grand Final, thanks to a scarily dominant second half.

Their squad is packed with talent and Premierships in C, D & 17’s Grade prove exactly that. They had team of the year representatives at both end of the court, highlighting how strong a team they are.

Last season they averaged a whopping 55 goals per game, whilst allowing only 32 goals against per game.

If they come close to matching this again, they’d be the team to beat in 2023.
