Outer East FN staff changes

Outer East Football Netball acknowledges and is thankful for the positive contributions made to the organisation by Football Operations Coordinator Sebastian Mueller-Schmuki and AFL Victoria Participation Coordinator Grace Nicholls, who have departed from their roles to accept opportunities elsewhere within the sporting industry.

Commencing with OEFN in December 2020, Seb has worked across a variety of roles, initially starting in the umpiring space before assisting with the junior interleague program and then in operations.

Other notable areas that Seb has helped out with has been the support provided to clubs with the implementation of the new PlayHQ system that came into effect this year.

Reflecting on his time with OEFN, Seb spoke highly of his experiences with the competition noting that he will really miss the friendships and strong connections he made with members across the football and netball community.

“Working within the junior interleague and umpiring programs has been thoroughly enjoyable and I can’t wait to watch umpires, AFL and AFLW players who have come from the Outer East ranks showcase their talent in years to come,” he said.

“The future is bright for our region and I’m excited to see the league go from strength to strength across the competition both on and off the field.”

Seb will now move into a full-time role with Melbourne Football Club (Narrm Football Club) as its Community Coordinator.

Having spent exactly 12 months with OEFN, Nicholls has taken on a leadership role with AFL Victoria, moving into the Eastern Football Netball League office to oversee its participation programs.

Throughout her time with us, Grace has worked well with our junior clubs, Auskick centres and school programs that she managed herself.

Like Seb, Grace has also enjoyed her time with the league over the past year and is particularly grateful for the relationships she has developed.

“The football programs we have been able to run in Kindergartens and the female space not only developed Auskick in 2021 but will see long term benefits across the Outer East region,” she said.

“I am looking forward to watching everything grow and I wish everyone all the best for the 2022 season!”

Stepping into Nicholls’ role as the AFL Victoria Participation Coordinator for OEFN is Nick Eades, and the organisation looks forward to working with him to further develop participation numbers across the region.
