Outer East Football Netball is pleased to release Leading the change: Outer East Football Netball’s Gender Equity and Action Plan 2022-2026.
The policy and action plan is the culmination of 12 months of engagement, feedback and consolation with our clubs, participants, local government and governing bodies.
Outer East FN are committed to drive and lead gender equity and inclusion across all competitions, clubs, and teams. This is an aspirational document, with a clear vision for football and netball in our region.
Chief Executive Officer Aaron Bailey is excited to release this document, following 12 months of planning and consideration and looks forward to seeing the fruition of these aims achieved.
“Creating inclusive and welcoming environments for all participants is a key driver for Outer East Football Netball and much has already been achieved including the delivery of the multi-strategy initiative Leading the Change, he said.
“Our Women’s Advisory Group supports Outer East FN to achieve gender equality in participation, access to resources and representation.
“With more women involved in decision making, clubs will better identify and overcome barriers to women and girls’ participation in sport and leadership.
These documents will be embedded in all our future strategic and operational planning moving forward.
The policy and action plan is designed to work alongside our partners and support the projects and programs being delivered.
Outer East FN Chairman Tony Mitchell is also pleased with the release of these important documents, outlining the important of female participation across the region, no matter what role they play.
“Our competition is extremely unique where we have female and male teams running at 50% of each gender, something we are truly proud of,” he explained.
“We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive environment for all of our communities and this policy ensures that equality and inclusion will remain a cornerstone of our strategic planning and future.”
Outer East FN would like to thank the Women’s Advisory Committee who continue to champion the cause of all participants in our region and were instrumental in the development of the gender equity policy.
